THE HAYLOFT is a beautifully renovated building in the quaint town of Barkly East which is situated in the Witteberge, close to the ski slopes of Tiffindell. Barkly, which is on the maloti route, is also world renowned as a trout fishing mecca.

THE HAYLOFT has been beautifully decorated throughout by an interior decorator, and it offers guests affordable luxury. Careful attention has been paid to detail, from the luxurious bathrooms and bedrooms to the streamlined modern kitchen. The living areas are north facing, to ensure guests remain cosy during the chilly ski season winters... there are a number of DVDs for guests to enjoy.

There is a separate honeymoon Suite upstairs which takes up the entire upper level of the house. It is decorated in a French Romantic style. The en-suite features a designer shower with travertine marble tiles, and a roccoco gilt chandelier.Accommodation is offered on a self-catering, or B&B basis, or guests can hire the entire house.

ACTIVITIES around Barkly include photographic courses and safaris, on demand;

there is a shuttle available to ake guests to the skiing at Tiffindell;

Directions

From Durban bypass Kokstad
- turnoff to Tsolo, through Qumbu, Maclear, Ugie Elliot
- up the Barkly Pass to Barkly.
- Turn left at DeVilliers Street (Standard Bank), third right into Montagu Street.
- We are the grey building on the right hand side.

From Johannesburg
- shortly after Bloemfontein turn left on the road to ALIWAL NORTH.
- Drive through Reddersburg, Smithfield, Rouxville, Aliwal North
- follow directions to Barkly East.
- Bypass Lady Grey.
- In Barkly turn right at De Villiers Street (Big Time Restaurant), 4th right into Montague Street. We are the grey building on the right hand side.
